Narrative Plan 2

We had a talk about what we need to do for the narrative such as creating a better story. To cut down on reliability we will use the 2 boys in the group as the other actors. We are planning on filming more narrative to give context to the narrative we also have. 

We aim to film a scene including 3 actors. They will meet up at a park and have a conversation/fight and then it will be revealed that he is leaving him for another boy. We will do this through varying shots such as him walking to the park, meeting then fighting and a few cinematic shots. 

We plan to film in South Park in Darlington.

The dimensions for each individual panel is 5.5" x 5" and a 0.125" bleed is required to keep the image quality high. 

Camera Test 2

Camera: Panasonic HC-V250 

We found the quality was a lot better and we are familiar with the college camera. It was also handy as it came with a tripod. The slow motion also works well with this camera.

✦Shooting Update✦

Instead of filming on Saturday 26th we will film narrative also on October 1st, The actors we chose were not reliable and have dropped out and therefore we feel it would be best to film when we can have full control over who come in or not.

Initial Logo Creation

I decided to begin to think about the logo for our band, Logos are prominent through indie bands and feature on a lot of their works, it helps with merchandise and helps fans feel closer to the band with a symbol they all use. It also allows fans to notice the band by a simplistic symbol or text.

Nirvana

The 1975 use a Rectangle as their logo, the text is also a prominent feature shown and is recognizable.

Initially we created some test logos to see how well we can make a logos and to have some ideas before the finalisation

 

I decided to take the Arctic Monkeys style and make it our own. I directly took the idea of the font and the circle from this. I feel as though it's fairly simplistic but recognizable for the band.

Since we decided on the band name - Unlucky like us i feel as though a four leaf clover would be a good symbol for the band as it represents luck, this is in sort of an ironic twist since the band is "unlucky". I stuck with the black and white theme for this and added some grungier texture over the clover. The font, brushes and images used were all free to use.

We did a quick test shot with a different camera than the one college offers just to see the quality. 

Shooting - Sunday 26th & Thursday 1st

On this day we will be shooting at the Travellers Rest 3:30pm to 5:00pm, this is so everyone can get there. Two members are not able to come (Olivia and Conor) and therefore we need to make sure it looks good enough just with two members, we could also re-film the following week to see if we can get anymore shots as this could just be a test shoot.

For the 1st of October we plan to film in the Space at college at 9:30 am until we are done, this could take us all day and it is therefore good we have the Space booked out all day as it is a closure day for college, this means we will not get interrupted. Hopefully everyone can come this time so we can make sure we are getting the right shots for the music video.

Location Reece - Narrative

Narrative - For this we will use a function room we can easily gain access too and not change too much but enough to dress it up and get the image we want. For the narrative it'll be easy to shoot in this area as we can change it and it is a wide space we can get a lot of shots and easily move about with.

Location Recce - Performance

Performance - A hall or stage would work good, we have decided to go with college locations since it'll be easier to film there and to get all our actors there, we can use it for the entire day and it is an already safe environment to film in. We decided not to go with the theater as it was too much trouble to try to obtain it to film in.

Animatic

Looking at this animatic it really gives a sense of how long certain parts are on the scene therefore we know we need to cut a lot quicker instead of the way we have done. We also clearly need a lot of different shots and maybe we need to include a narrative to add more to it. 

Social Medias

For our bands we will create a few social medias. This is to show they are fan oriented. We will use images we take for the digipak and during the creation for the video to make it look official and professional and also to fill them up. Since all these sites are free to use we will be able to create a band email then sign them up and easily make social medias.

Shooting Schedule

We haven't decided a date for the filming of our music video yet as we are figuring out each others working schedule.

We are going to film everything all at once throughout the day but this will include alternative locations. We can do this as all the scenes will be indoors and therefore the element of the natural lighting won't be an issue as the day goes on.

When we officially get a location to film it will be clearer when we can shoot, we need to shoot when everyone is available for a long period of time so probably a Saturday or a Sunday.

We will start the day by moving all the stuff to the first location.

Costume & Props

Actors: 

For costume we have decided to go with a very casual and formal theme for the performance and actors. This links in with the genre of indie rock as they stereotypically don't dress up for their music videos. The actors in the narrative will wear opposing outfits to create a binary opposition (so white/black)
